As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. (Page numbers, line numbers, word count, etc.)
Author Guidelines
Scholarly perspectives and commentaries must adhere to these guidelines. Those that do not may be returned to the author for revision. These submissions can be submitted under the "Main Submissions" option. Short fiction and visual art / photogrpahy can be submitted directly at healthscienceinquiry@gmail.com. They will not need to be amenable to the file formats described below.
Authorship: Each submission must have a corresponding author, who will be available throughout the submission and review process to respond to the editorial inquiries of the journal. The corresponding author is also responsible for ensuring that all who qualify for co-authorship are listed in the submission, and that all co-authors review and approve the manuscript prior to publication.
Length: The maximum length of any text submission is 2000 words (excluding the title, abstract, all figure captions, and references).
Title: All submissions must have a title (max 15 words) that is descriptive of the work.
Abstract: All submissions must be accompanied by a short abstract (max 300 words).
File format: To help us maintain a double-blind peer-review process, please ensure your submission meets the following guidelines:
Please submit the entire work (including the abstract, references, and all figures/tables) in one double-spaced Microsoft Word document.
Please ensure your submission is fully anonymized to ensure the authors’ identities are concealed from peer reviewers.
Please provide a word count on your submission (excluding the title, all figure captions, and references)
Please provide consecutive line numbers on your submission
Please insert page numbers in the bottom right corner of the page.
Citation Style:
References should be formatted according to the Vancouver Style.
References should be cited in text by number rather than author and date.
References should be numbered consecutively in the order of appearance in the manuscript.
DOIs should be added for any articles that do not have designated volume and page numbers.

For images and figures, please provide the highest quality image possible (minimum 300dpi resolution).
For review purposes, all images should be included at the end your Word document. If your work is accepted for publication, you may be asked to submit the original images as separate files for production.
All images must be numbered in the order in which they are referenced in the main text of the submission, and must include a descriptive caption.
Authors agree to determine, prior to publication, whether it is necessary to obtain permissions from any third party who holds rights with respect to any photographs, illustrations, drawings, text, or any other material (“third party work”) to be published in connection with your work. Copyright permission will not be necessary if the use is determined to be fair dealing, if the work is in the public domain, or if the rights-holder has granted a Creative Commons or similar licence. For any third party work included in your submission, please indicate in the caption whether permission is necessary, whether it has been granted, and details about what permissions have been granted.

Please ensure that all authors on the submission are listed as contributors in the OJS Metadata form. All authors listed in OJS will receive an email notification acknowledging the submission.
